Anwār al-Madīnah

Anwār al-Madīnah is a devotional inshād group established to serve the Islamic tradition through the recitation of qasāʾid and spiritual poetry. The group's purpose is to contribute to gatherings of remembrance by upholding sincerity, adab, and respect for the sacred nature of inshād.

Anwār al-Madīnah has performed at numerous religious, community and private events. These include major programs such as the Annual Seerah Conference and the KTICC Grand Festival, as well as various mawalid, dhikr gatherings, lectures and special religious programs. The group has also participated in events and recitals alongside local and international guests, including Shaykh Hamdi Kanjo, Shaykh Mansour Zaiter, Shaykh Muʿtasim al-Asli, and the Ahbāb al-Muṣṭafā nasheed group.

In addition to large public events, Anwār al-Madīnah performs at weddings, ʿaqīqah ceremonies, graduations and other family occasions, as well as at youth camps and retreats, including YMA Camp and the Zaylaʿī Retreat.

Looking ahead, Anwār al-Madīnah intends to establish a Madrasah of Inshād, planned for early 2026, in shāʾ Allāh. This initiative aims to provide structured training in traditional inshād, focusing on correct recitation, basic maqāmāt, understanding of poetic meaning, and the adab of devotional expression, with the goal of nurturing the next generation of munshidīn.
